I have been asked several times lately about using Sytist offline at onsite events. Here is how I have accomplished that where you can access an installation of Sytist on a computer from other devices (cell phones, computers, etc...) without being connected to the internet.
To get Sytist running on my computer I use XAMPP:
XAMPP has all the things needed to get your computer to work like a server: PHP, MySQL, GD Library, etc...
Once you have downloaded and installed XAMPP on your computer you can install Sytist. Pretty much the same directions as installing on a server.
When using XAMPP, you will access Sytist with the address localhost on the computer you have it installed on. But to access that from another device you will need to be connected to a WIFI router and get the IPv4 address for your computer.
Note I am using Windows 10 so other versions of Windows or a Mac may be different.
Once connected to the WIFI router, go to the command prompt on your computer. Windows 10 and you can type in cmd in the search bar to get to it.
In the command prompt type in: ipconfig /all
This will pull up the IP Configuration.
In that information look for the section Wireless LAN adapter Wi-Fi and under that section find IPv4 Address It will look something like this:
Wireless LAN adapter Wi-Fi:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : nse.rr.com
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265
Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : AC-55-66-82-DA-5C

IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 123.456.7.890(Preferred)

Connect your other device or devices to that same WIFI network and enter that IPv4 address into the browser. http://123.456.7.890
