MailChimp.com is an email marketing service to send bulk emails and now integrated with Sytist. If you have fewer than 2,000 subscribers, you can send up to 12,000 emails per month absolutely free.
When using this option it will automatically send the subscriber to your MailChimp account.
Getting this setup in Sytist
Create an Account
First thing you need to do is create a MailChimp account if you don't already have one. Click here to do so. Absolutely free and no credit card needed.
Create a List
After you have created your account, you will need to create a List. Select Create a List from your MailChimp dashboard.
Get your API Key
In your MailChimp account
- Click your Name in the upper right corner, select Account.
- Next page, select Extras then API Keys.
- Click "Create a Key" and after you do that, highlight and copy your key.
Add your MailChimp API Key to Sytist
In your Sytist admin, go to People -> Mailing List Settings. Check the option to Connect with MailChimp and paste your API key in the field. Click Save Changes.
Select a List
After you have added your API key you will need to save changes on that page then you will see an option to select a list. Select the list you created. Click Save Changes.
Add your Webhook URL
The Webhook lets MailChimp send back information to your database like when someone confirms their subscription or unsubscribes. Copy with Webhook URL from the Mailing List Settings page.
In your MailChimp Account go to:
- Audience
- Click on your List Name
- Click View Contacts
- Then you will have a Settings link.
- Click Settings and select Webhooks
- Click Create New Webhook and enter in the URL you copied into the Callback URL field.
Now you should be all good to go with MailChimp!
