Paypal - Extra Payments Taken, Blank Orders Created

I had a client make a purchase for some digital photos for £21.  All good, then the payment has been taken again... 4 times and a blank order created each time!  This happened once before with different client and different gallery but only 1 extra payment/blank order.  I assumed it was a paypal issue but as an extra order is being created I'm not so sure.  Has anyone else experienced this or have any idea what's causing it?

Exactly which PayPal payment option is it? In Settings -> Checkout & Payment.

PayPal Standard Business? PayPal Checkout?

Its Paypal Standard Business

Sounds like a network hiccup when PayPal sending the IPN to Sytist to create the order and posted it multiple times. 

I would suggest changing to the PayPal Complete Payments option. It offers a lot more payment options. 

PayPal is retiring PayPal WPS (The PayPal Standard Business in Sytist you are using) at the end of year any ways. 

Settings -> Checkout & Payment.
