View All Images And Have Search By Passcode

I use the entagged system, is it possible to have galleries show all images plus have a Find Photos box so the parents can type in their access code and see just their child's images?

Hi Chuck, that would defeat the purpose of having passcodes, passcodes are to protect the other users from seeing ones images.

On one side yes it would defeat the purpose, but on the other side these are sports pictures that would not typically be pass coded anyway. This would give the parents the option to put in their child's passcode and all their child's images would be there for them to pick from.

Chuck, security is why there is passcodes, that's how it works, you can't have both. Use tags or keywords if you want them to look up athletes, but once again those will be the only images that will be viewable via "Find My Photos". In either case this is how it works either show the entire gallery or selected images via passcodes, tags or keywords.

This may be the best solution for you, I too will be using entagged, but here you put that info in keywords. Scroll to the bottom of the page.

Ok, just thought I would see if that is an option. Photoday, which I used for some of my online selling, has an option for any combination of these three options for viewing or allowing all options... All Images, By Tags, Facefind. Since this system is far more customizable than Photoday I thought I would see if there is a way to narrow down searches using an access I already have imbedded into the image metadata.

I have setup and used the entagged system within Sytist and it works great. I just don't want to lock down galleries with passcodes when I don't need to, I use Code Return to allow automated access code retrieval but parent constantly call for their passcode.

School pictures is a whole other ball game they all get passcoded, but sports teams I don't passcode them unless there is a request.

I think this could be accomplished by using a 'Search with Key words / tags' type gallery.

Using this type of a gallery, you are more 'filtering' a full gallery rather than 'searching', but the effect is just the same.

See here for a sample gallery:

https://www.sytist.net/clients/gallery-with-key-wo...

and search for 'dog' or tap view all tags to see all available keywords.

All images are shown by default for the gallery, but you can type the relevant keyword into the search box at the top of the screen to effectively 'filter' your view of the gallery to those images that have that keyword. You could even have multiple keywords for the same image (I assume anyway, not positive though), so you can search for the individual based keyword, and separately search for the team name keyword to filter just the relevant team images.

I'm sure I've combined this with the 'filter by time block' at the same time as having a keyword search - which is ideal for sporting events like marathons or dance events where they know their dance start time slot.

Can't find any documentation on keyword galleries in the Sytist Manual though, Tim might advise.  Edit - try this: https://www.picturespro.com/sytist-manual/articles...

The only extra step you would have to take would be to get the entagged encoded Copyright metadata field copied into the keyword, which would be pretty easy to script with Phil Harvey's Exiftool - very friendly and learned bunch at https://exiftool.org/forum/index.php if you would struggle yourself.  Could also do it directly in Lightroom with a .lua script or possibly Tim Armes' LRTransporter https://www.photographers-toolbox.com/products/lrt.... or John Beardsworth's transfer https://www.photographers-toolbox.com/products/jbe...

---

On a separate note, how that photoday FaceFind feature is legal in America really surprises me, that would never  be allowed in Europe - I think parents would lynch me.

View the photos in the admin, click the Photo Display Settings tab and there is an option to  enable a search option.

Thank you, one other thing if I leave the box unchecked for "Do not Search copyright and Comments" will that search option look at the copyright field data that the entagged device embedded into th image? This Photo search option seems to different than the Passcode option further up the page.

I have heard of some photogs here in the states not being aloud to use Facefind. One of the reasons I purchased the entagged device I don't want to use QR codes or write down Name on a whiteboard on any other manual way to track kids to names.

Unchecked it will search for the copyright & comment fields. Plus the keywords & filename.

I'd be interested in your view of the entagged.

I have used it when it was a Euro market only device during its development.

I can see the benefits, but I don't think it's for us for a number of reasons.

I use entagged with the names list feature.

I recently did a figure skating club where I was going to have everyone from each group there to do a traditional group picture. I created  spreadsheet with all the routines and as the skaters came up I tagged all their images with a code for that routine, now I can go to Lightroom and search for that code and All the skaters in the routine comeup. I select the images I want to use for the group image save them to a folder and Pixnub Ezteam builder creates the group image.

Now what I'm going to do is tag each player with a unique code, give this to parents and if they don't lose it, they can filter the images in a gallery instead of searching through all the images.

School pictures, everyone has their own private "gallery" and their access code is embedded into the image.

I will use the Facefind option for some jobs, dance schools, proms where I don't care who the person is and let the parents find them later using facial recognition
