Updating To New Version Issue

Greetings,
I'm looking for recommendations on how to fix an issue I have encountered. My hosting service recently forced an update to php 7.4. To maintain 7.3 they were asking for a monthly amount of money to manage it. Without that management the Sytist site was throwing up errors on the main page and now allowing access to certain areas of the site.
So I decided it was time to pay to upgrade Sytist. I started the update and got all the way to step four but what I also ran into is an issue that my web hosting service (Ionos) only allows me to have a specific number of files ( 262.144) and I didn't realize I was so close to that. So when it tried to install the new update it bumped into that cap and thus wasn't able to finish.
What would be the best way to do a fresh install but maintain my current configurations? I am not as concerned about previous galleries, and removing them would probably benefit me to getting rid of all the files that are on the site right now.
So in short, is there a certain folder/files I need to save, then wipe out my site, fresh install, and the re-upload those files? Could it really be that simple?
Cheers!

The file count could be because of PHP sessions not getting cleaned up. See this on how to check and fix it:

Thanks for the response Tim. Currently I can't access the site because the update failed to load all the files as I assume I bumped against the cap on the amount of files I have on my hosting site.
Any idea on how to remedy that? Is there manual method to install the site via FTP without losing all my configs?

Manually updating:
https://www.picturespro.com/sytist-manual/installation/upgrading/
But to check this:

You would do it via FTP and not your Sytist admin.

Thanks for the help Tim. I'm back up and running and 137,000 files deleted :)
