I have very recently had 2 customers complain that the downloads they received still contained the watermark that was put on the picture during upload.
Details: Yesterday, customer purchased a collection of 10 downloads of max resolution images. Customer reports that *some* of the images still had the watermark that was applied by Sytist when uploading. A few hours later, I log in as same customer and download a zip file containing the same 10 images, all of which are clean w/o any watermark. I am waiting to hear back from customer if it worked for them the 2nd time through.
I had a customer last week indicate that the watermarks were still there. I have been offering downloads for most of the last 2 years and this has not, to the best of my knowledge, ever happened before.
I will continue to follow up with the customer, but thought you should know about it even if it does happen to self-resolve.

Can't think of any reason why some might have watermarks unless they were watermarked before uploading them.
