You are correct. I was thinking price list or something.

Once you add them to the price list you can adjust the order. But there is not a way to adjust the order they are displayed in the Product Base section.

It took all day but I finally got my Product Base and a sports price list done. It sure would be nice if the Product Base section sorted the products at least alphabetically. It seems they show up in this section completely at random. Sure makes it hard to find things when you have a large product base and need to edit at the Product Base level. Anyone have ideas on how to do this more efficiently?

Yep, I find this annoying too. I'd really like to bring some order to my product base. Creating price lists involves me going up and down this page trying to find the right product as they are in the order I added them rather than an order that makes sense. Just an option to drag and drop would be brilliant.

Can you name the product starting with numbers or letters and that sort them in order?
For example:
1. Product base product
2 product base product
or
A. Product base product
B. product base product
For example:
1. Product base product
2 product base product
or
A. Product base product
B. product base product

Thanks Mark, but wouldn't help too much as products do not automatically order in alphabetical or numerical order, so I would still end up with a load or letters/numbers out of order.
Thanks for the suggestion though.

What I have found is that the Product Base products are sorted by PRICE. Since you can change your prices on the Price Lists you could group your product base products by an arbitrary price. Say all spots products are $1.00 Portrait products are $2.00 You could even sub-divide 99 times using the pennies.

Brian Brussel......you are a genius! Fab idea!
Thank you for finding a solution to bringing order to my product base!
Much appreciated!
p.s. If anyone reads this and decides to do the same, I recommend you go to your price lists first and using the edit pencil next to price, save all the current prices with the 'override default price' button, so all your prices don't suddenly change. Only took me 5 mins to do this to all my price lists then another 10 mins to number all my products 1 upwards using the price. I now have wonderful order to my product page but didn't have to manually put in prices on my price lists.
