why does this sometimes/quite often happen when I am trying to open various pages?
Occurs on various browsers.. it like I need to clear some sort of a log maybe? The only way I fix it is to close the whole browser, or open another one ( Chrome, Firefox mostly ).. failing that I turn off the computer and turn it on again ( ye olde chestnut )

This would be some sort of issue with the server, not Sytist. I don't know what it would be but have never experienced that. Perhaps your host can look into it.
