What ever I put in the field, the homepage will be shown instead of the external link page. I want to link to a section and not use the homepage.

The external link option doesn't work for the homepage. Not what it is used for and I just should remove it for the homepage but it is just there because it is available for other pages.

Use the featured content option for the homepage to display galleries on the homepage.

Well, that has been a waste of time. Maybe you can place a warning?

The featured content option does not work either. It shows nothing. Besides that, I cannot see the names in the pop-up because the pop-up is not wide enough. And I do like the long names ;-)

The featured content option mentions to do it in the Page Designer. So I did with element Dynamic Content. But then the designer says it has no data found in the section I choose.

My wanted endresult is a mainpage with sub-categories. This can be the homepage or the mainpage of the section. This is a public section. I have more sections, but they are strictly private.

The featured content does work. Perhaps you change the homepage layout which would make it not work. I can't do anything about long titles.

You can do this to redirect the homepage to another page.

Site Content -> Manage Home Page

-> Embed Video or Code

Add this code:

location.href="https://www.somewebsite.com/clients/";

Replace https://www.somewebsite.com/clients/ with the URL of the page you want it to redirect to.

Changes to the Homepage layout could be the problem, but when I use another template the Dynamic Content element still says 'No data found xxx'. That is on all sections except a FAQ section.

The Embed code does not work. It is seen and showed as text.

With < and > it looks like bad code.

Sorry, the code to add should be:

<script>
location.href="https://www.somewebsite.com/clients/";
</script>

And the display layout for the homepage in the "Billboard, Page Display Layout, Max Width & Theme" section should be set to homepage for the featured content to work.

Many Thanks Tim. Now it works.

And the display layout was not Homepage but pointing to my own layout. I think I did this in the past when searching for a visual model.

Again, many thanks,
