Hi Tim,
When I try to save changes to the email order template I get the attached 403 error.
Are you able to assist with why that is happening?

That means it is triggering Mod Security on the server when you are saving. You would need to get with your hosting company and let them know you are triggering it and they can whitelist the rule it is triggering.
