Im interested in running a sale on my photos from 2018 which are all in multiple galleries in a single section on my website. Is there a way to do this with a couple or sale?

If I use the same price lists for my 2018 photos as I do photos in other galleries, I could duplicate that price list then re-name and assign to the 2018 galleries to make that work Im guessing.

Yes you can duplicate the price list and assign it to those galleries (you can batch edit price lists for galleries by checking the checkbox next to the galleries from the list of galleries in the Site Content area).
