Downloaded Images Are Not Retaining Iptc Image Meta Data

Images are properly displaying the IPTC meta data (e.g. description), but all of the meta data gets wiped out when a client downloads an image. The downloaded images no longer contain the description, creator, website, copyright notice, etc.

If they are not downloading the original size and the image is getting resized, it can't retain the metadata of the image because the process loses it (GD Library).

Goes GD Library give you a way to write meta data? I'd like to include author/description and copyright in the downloaded images.

To my knowledge, the GD library can not do that.

Tim, when you create a ZIP file from the orders window does this also happen? I thought the files we were downloading were effectively identical to the ones we uploaded as far as the orders side of thing goes but it seems like we are losing our metadata from that process as well.

If it is the original file that is not being processed (resized or watermarked) it will retain that data.
