Feature Request: Random Coupon Codes Needed

I know this was asked before and it was suggested it might be a future feature. I really really badly need the way to create a batch of coupons that I can sell at an event, but they need to be completely randomized so that they can't be guessed.

Even allowing me to upload a excel file with my own random codes and have them applied would be an option. Codes would need to support alpha-numeric and long enough to be too difficult to guess.

in my case I sell a $50 coupon at an event for $40, so that there is some urgency to buy immediately. I can hand the customer an actual coupon right at the event, and the customer can take it to the website the next day and redeem it for the photos once they are loaded.

Is there any way to do this other than making the coupons individually?

This is something I have actually added in the next update coming out around the first part of next week.

Hate to necro an old topic, but if anyone is interested, I created and use a random code generator using Autohotkey to create my codes for coupons.

I typically only one code at a time, but I wrote it so that you can create even a monster list to your clipboard and put that into a text and use from there. Since I need only one at a time, I do not even view the code until I paste it into the proper area and in the email I send.

If anyone is interested let me know.

Had to chuckle at the way you put that.

What did you not like about the random codes generated by Sytist? Just curious

I have not found that feature.

Unless, if you are referring to the batch coupon adding a random 4 character string, which really isn't a solution I needed. I am not making a lot of batch coupons. I typically only need one coupon at a time.

I need batch only once a year for prizes I donate to the venue and with what I made, I can have it completely randomized and very customizable. I can change the length, the queue of characters, and how many random codes I want to create.

With my solution I simply execute the script via specific hotkeys and a random code is generated on my clipboard that I can then paste to where I need it. I typically paste it into my coupon I am making and then the email I send the client.

It can double as a password generator, which is what I modeled it after.

Since I use Autohotkey in many of my repetitive actions in my business, I have experience with it and that is how I addressed this "problem".

Just thought I would throw it out there if anyone needed it.

OK fair enough. If I'm making just one single-use coupon I just make up a code - I like adding the time of day in 24-hr format to the end of something more memorable like "LoriN-0941".

I thought you were talking about making a batch of coupons, and I could see how Sytist's method could then be "figured out" and abused by a client. (Like if all coupons were called "Deal-XXXX" they could just try random 4-digit codes until one goes through.)

Anyway thanks for sharing your solution!
