Sytist Optimization Practices

Hi Tim, is way optimize Sytist? Meaning, My DB is around 200MB and my photo storage is around 262GB and pushes to amazon web services. Over the last 4 Months we have been experiencing slow upload times and super slow page latency issues on the admin pages . Root cause it is bottle necking on the stylist level admin page level.

My server is not spiking CPU usage and i am running Gig speeds with fiber to the prim, 500mb +up and 500mb+down. As you know i host a few other sytist websites and those are running rock solid on the same server with no issues.

Is there anything we can do trouble shooting and resolve these issues? Could it be the primary indexes on the DB that just cannot handle the loads? Not, sure just talking out loud. Any tips and or tricks.

--OR Could it be LOG files?

Cheers,

I wanted to follow up on the post in case anyone is having or comes across this issue with performance issues with a big databases and GB's of images.

The size of the database is a big factor on the performance.
Here are some things to try to speed things up.
• Go to Stats -> Shopping Carts. Delete older abandoned shopping carts.
• If you are using Sytist version 2.3.0 or higher, click Settings in the main menu. Then under the left menu, click “Set Gallery Previews”. This process helps speed things up if you have a lot of sub galleries.
• Delete old galleries that are not needed.
• Go to Settings -> Backup Database and do the optimize database.
• Click Stats in the main menu. This will compile old stats and reduce the rows in the stats table.

Please let me know if you have any questions, happy to assist!
