Passcode In Copyright Field Of Uploaded Image
Hey Tim,
If I have the passcode embedded of the copyright field of my uploaded images, that should be the passcode correct? We just did a job with the passcode in the copyright field of the uploaded images but all the images show a passcode of none.
Work flow: We started the job with QR codes, imported student data, printed qr codes. Used the QR codes to scan with entagged(placed the passcode into each photos copyright field) then upload, however when uploading images the images say passcode: none. I did confirm that the passcode is still in the image copyright field.
In settings I have the do not check copyright field unchecked.
Photo is getting stripped of copyright when uploading(no pic_copyright in database). Uploading via ftp although I tried both FTP and UI uploads with the same result.
Am I missing something or doing something wrong? Thanks for any help you can offer.
Unless the passcode is in the title field, it will say no passcode under the thumbnails in the admin. Test it on the customer side.
And you are trying to mix ways to do this.

Thanks Tim,
If we wanted to use the entagged device on a canon camera that places the passcode into the copyright field, is that possible while using either of the passcode options in sytist? Or would we have to somehow get the data from the copyright field into the title field?
I don't know if it could be an option when uploading to have a checkbox to "Check Copyright Field" and when checked copy the copyright field in to the pic_title field. Again just a thought. I have no idea what that takes or effects behind the scenes.
You're right about mixing and it's Not really important but just the back story.
We really like the QR codes to hand out on photo day and use with the entagged devices. we use the entagged app to scan the sytist provided qr code, it inserts the passcode into the copyright field and we photograph the kid quickly. Many times when we are photographing students we cannot zoom the camera(due to needed every kid the same size in a composite group photo) to take an adequate photo of the qr code. It's quicker for us to have the entagged app up with the camera on and slide the qr code under the tablet or phone that we are running the entagged app on and let the app scan the qr code and insert the passcode into the photo. Unfortunately the entagged app doesn't allow us to choose what field it records the passcode into, it always puts it into the copyright field.
Thank you for any insight you can offer and thanks for all of your hard work on the recent updates!
Using the passcode in the copyright field only works with the original passcode photos option. It will not work with the QR passcodes.
I have plans on making an upload data like you do with the orignal passcode phots to work with the QR passcode features, but don't know if or when that will happen.

Copy that. Thanks Tim. We really like the QR code feature on the shoot, Assuming thisnwould work, I think ill just create a python script that will copy the copyright field into the title field of the images before we upload them. Or when uploading with qr codes active does sytist remove the metadata?
Uploading with QR code won't delete the metadata.

Exiftool can copy fields, which might be another option. Friendly bunch on their forum too.
