Adding A Price List To Specific Upload Sets In The Same Gallery

I am shooting schools and have several sizes of photos on offer depending on the subject as follows

  • Individuals: Passport size, Wallet, 3R,4R, 5R, 8R
  • Siblings: 3R, 4R, 5R, 8R
  • Full Class and sport teams: 5R, 8R
  • Composite with all students in class with names underneath each student: 8R
  • Graduation: 8R, 11R, 14R

At the moment I have a default price list for the bulk head shots which are typically 3-4,000 photos. The next most prolific are the composites with about 1,000. Then the sports and class groups, and then the siblings. I start by uploading all off thee composites, then select all photos and change the price list for those, then upload the bulk students. Then I upload
the siblings, and classes, going through them individually to select and change the price list. LASTLY several months later I upload the Graduation photos to the same gallery, selecting each individually and changing the price list for them to the Graduation price list.

This last step is a great way of capturing parents who forgot photos from earlier in the year.

This is all a bit tedious.

Is it possible, or can I suggest, that on the upload photos page that it is made possible to select an alternate pricing list for those photos being uploaded at that time? It would save me hours of work :-)

Thank you

Would your set up work if they were uploaded into separate subfolders? It would make it really easy to change the price lists this way.

Thank you that is a good idea to test. I am not sure if the passcode system works with subfolders but will run a trial to see if it does

I used subfolders with the QR code system this fall and it worked. I liked that I could upload one class per subfolder and track my uploads a bit easier than having everything together.

There were a couple things that I have put in requests for to make it even better, but they weren't negatives caused by the subfolders, just things that could improve functionality by using subfolders. (Example, Verify QR code by subfolder instead of all gallery images.)

Thank you Selina. I ran some tests today. The subfolder system doesn't work for PASSCODES unfortunately.

The subfolder system is definitely fast to assign pricing to photo set variations :-)

I suspect I need to evaluate the feasibility of implementing the QR codes. It scare me a bit hahaha

What do you use for their passcodes right now? Is it randomly generated or are you using something like a student number?

Student ID number supplied by the school

I've been playing around with this a bit and am still trying to sort out the details, but when you create QR codes by uploading a spreadsheet of data, there is a checkbox to say that the passcode is contained in the spreadsheet. So the student QR code data would be created using the passcodes that you supply.
In theory, you should be able to go through the QR code process and then not ever hand out the QR codes if you don't want to. The families could still just use those passcodes supplied by the school.
