Qr Code Workflow Query

Would like some comment on this workflow if possible:

I start with no subject data:

2) I print QR codes, photograph each before photographing a subject and take 4 photos of each subject. I do not give the QR sheet to the pupil.

3) I upload all photos + codes, in order. Sytist correctly assigns QR codes to subjects

4) I now want to print the QR code + photo to hand to class teacher for distribution to parents (this way I have no need to collect family data)

5) *I note that I cannot do this unless I have already uploaded subject data*

So..

6) I export the data that connects photo name, code and URL as CSV. I import it into Google sheets. I delete the rows for all but one photo for each child (there are 4 photos per child)

7) I upload the csv from this data to the gallery

8) now I can print code + photo, fold and place in a clear plastic wallet (with code not visible) and hand to class teacher for distribution

For what I am trying to achieve, is this presently the simplest way, given I do not start with any subject data and would prefer to collect as little as possible?

I know that you said that you would prefer to collect as little data as possible, but it will really simplify your workflow if you collect the basics.

From the school, get a spreadsheet of student names and teacher/class names. convert this to a csv to upload into your QR code area. It will create QR codes for you with the names attached, and you can print them including subject data. Now you photograph the student with the appropriate QR code.

At the end of photo day, you can go to the office and deliver the neatly bundled stacks of QR codes to send home. No need to go back to the school to drop them off.

I also give the school a pdf file of the QR code print outs so they have them on hand in case any get lost.

If you aren't going to have subject data before you photograph, you could print out the QR code with the photos and give them to the teacher and they can distribute them.

Or just let them keep the QR print outs, they take them home and the parents can scan the QR codes to see the photos when they are ready.

If you do have subject data before hand, then you can just email the customers from Sytist with their passcodes.

Selina

Yes, this does seem to be the most convenient way, and perhaps I making things too complicated by wanting to present parents with photo+QR code.

Tim

Unless I have misunderstood, it's not possible to print photos with QR codes unless you have already uploaded subject data?

I agree the simplest option is simply to give the pupils the QR code to take home.

Here's the A6 wallet I wanted to give to parents. Card folded so QR code isn't visible: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Ut1EczCqIgdnrnbTc...

You can print out QR codes without having subject data, there is a button for that.

See: Printing QR Codes, #2.

Yes, although last time I tried, that didn't give an option to print with photos?

It will only print with photos IF you have subject data associated with the photos.

Indeed.

So for what I would *like to do, uploading at least *some data initially is probably going to be the most efficient way forward

Much appreciate the contributions!
