Watch Folder

Hi Tim,

For a specific job i use an automated process to receive, move to upload folder which Sytist is watching.

For the file moving part i use winSCP but keep getting errors and the programme looping files to upload.

On investigation i see it's part of the winscp process where it temporarily renames the file before upload completes but Sytist sees the temp file and moves it before the 'moving' process is complete which in turn creates an in winscp and sends it back to the beginning of files to upload every time .

Would a few seconds delay be programmable into watch folder at all?

thank you

It already checks if the file has been on the server longer than 30 seconds before it processes it for this very reason.

Are your photos taking longer than 30 seconds each to upload?

You can increase this time to 60 seconds by editing your sy-config.php file through the file manager in your HOSTING control panel  and add this line in the file before the closing PHP tag ?>:

$setup['watch_folder_wait_time'] = 60;

Thanks Tim,

no they upload quicker than 30 seconds but great to know there is a delay built in so the issue is back to winscp

thanks again

Hi Tim,

I've done this as per instructions.

Is the 60 seconds until it starts looking for files and doesn't then stop?

Or does it upload what it sees then stops waiting for new files ?

What if a file starts to drop in as its uploading another filer , does it wait 60 seconds before uploading that file or just carry on.?

I'm still having issues with winscp erroring because the file has moved before it was finished

ythsnks

It checks if the file has been on the server for more than 30 or 60 seconds in case the file is still in the upload process.

Perhaps you have the time incorrect somewhere.
