Qr Codes And Pre-registration And Data Fields

When shooting for a school, in the past, I set up a gallery where parents could pre-register, then later, uploaded a csv where I had created passcodes for each student.  The passcodes were basic (firstnamelastname of the student).  Easy to send mass emails out the parents, but not that secure.

With the new addition of using data fields, I was hoping to move away from that type of passcode.   Can the parents pre-register and then when I uploaded the csv (and this time allowed sytist to create the passcodes), will the pre-registers merge with the new data?

If you are using Pre-Register and QR Passcodes, that data ties together.

So each subject that is preregister gets their own passcode generated automatically. You wouldn't import any passcodes.

But if not all parents at a school preregister?  So I'd have to somehow figure out which parents have pre-registered and which ones haven't and import passcode info for only the ones who haven't?

Tell me if there's a different option that I'm missing for photographing a school.
1.) Print QR codes, but I set the password to be pretty generic (and unsecure) to be 'firstnamelastname'. So mass emails can be sent from the school with generic passcode instructions. And I can also have that info on the splash page of the gallery.
2.) Print QR codes with more secure, sytist generated passcodes, and give each child a print out with their passcode to take home to their parents. And likely deal with tons of emails from parents asking for their passcode b/c their kid threw it away.
3.) Ask the school to give me the parents email addresses, so that I can create a list that matches the secure passcode to each parent email and I can send out emails with the individual passcodes to each family.

I've been doing #1, but would like a more secure passcode. But I'm not loving the idea of #2 and I'm not sure the school will hand over the parents email addresses for #3?  So I'm hoping maybe there's a 4th way that I'm not thinking of???

If you get the child and parent information from the school, there will be no need to have them preregister. You can import that information and have Sytist create passcodes.

If you don't get that information from the school, have them preregister. Perhaps the school can give out instructions and link to do that.

When they preregister, Sytist will automatically create passcodes.

Both above you can email the passcodes to the parents.

Print out extra QR codes without subject data for those that did not preregister or you don't have info on. Those would need to use the print out to access their photos when they are ready by scanning the QR code or going to the site and enter their passcode.
