Paypal Complete Payments - Google Pay Not Working

I have updated to the latest version of Sytist and am replacing 'Paypal Standard Business' with 'Paypal Complete Payments'

I have attempted to purchase using google pay but it says the transaction was not successful (typos in notification!) This is the case on all phones of various members of my household and my PC. Some ask for Google Login, others don't, but the outcome is always the same. I am presently using live credentials, and the sandbox tickbox is unticked.

Payments via paypal (not the Google Pay option) still go through without issue, with correct return to the website and 'transaction successful' notification.

Live ID and security key are added to sytist, and Paypal shows Google Pay is active.

(on a side note, sometimes Google Pay does not show up as an option. I believe this may be only when VPN is activated, but would like confirmation if this is expected behaviour.)

Please advise

We need to check for any API errors.

You will need to log into the PayPal developer dashboard with your PayPal account.

See if there are any pages on that main page under recent error logs. If so, email any data with it.

If you don't see any errors, go to the event logs section. So it you see any logs related to the fail transaction. If so, email me any data associated with it.

As for the Google Pay not showing occasionally, I have experienced that too. I will be speaking  with PayPal about that this week.

I attempted to use Google Pay via chrome on my PC within the last four hours.

1)Google Pay did not at first show up (VPN off)
2)On second attempt, with no adjustments to any PC, software or browser settings Google Pay appeared
3) Transaction unsuccessful (Google Pay payment window appeared and attempted the transaction)

4)On phone, first attempt(VPN on) no Google Pay
5) On second attempt (VPN off) Google Pay appears
6) Transaction unsuccessful.

Looking at error and event logs, nothing is recorded.
In the following screenshots, you can see two transactions which were refunded. These were standard paypal transactions. There are no errors or references to the failed Google Pay attempts.

Are you receiving any of the Google Pay payments into your PayPal account?

Post or email me a link where I can do a test purchase.

I have put an item in this gallery for £0.01

Alternatively, I could change the ID and secret key to sandbox and put a realistic price?

Google Pay - Paypal Complete Payments test gallery

Access code: gcp188

I can confirm that no Google Pay payments have made it to my paypal account

I don't think a payment of 1 cent will be accepted. Change it to $2.

Yes, I can confirm that and have issued a refund.

Curiously multiple attempts from multiple machines (Pixel 6 phones, Windows 11 PC) do not work in my home.

I can see there are API entries for the failed Google Pay attempts here in UK, but nothing in error logs, and no transactions actually accomplished (I can see yours, and the two recent paypal ones from myself

I have a copy of the code in the debug section of API for one of the Google Pay attempts. Would it be best to send that to you privately? security risks relevant?

Email  me that information. It will contain an order ID and debug ID and then I can contact PayPal to have them look into those transactions.
