Tax Applied Twice Since 5.31 Update

Since updating to 5.31, Tax is being applied twice on all orders, both in the VAT and TAX fields.

In Australia so GST is being applied @ 10%, plus VAT @ 10%, only occured since updating to 5.31

Do you have a rate set in the "Tax rate for all pickup orders" field in Settings -> Tax? And if so, was it a pick up order?

And to be clear, it is only supposed to charge one of those? Or is it doubling the percentage to 20% vat?

Yes I have a tax rate in pickup orders, and its a digital download order

It applies two seperate line items of tax at 10% each

So you don't charge tax on downloads? 

I added the pickup tax to the download orders because of a complaint they weren't being charged tax for out of state orders. 

You don't want to charge tax on download only orders?  At all?

I charge GST (Tax) 10% on all orders, downloads, prints, bundles

I don't understand then. 

It is charging VAT when it shouldn't?

It is charging TAX when it shouldn't?

Do you have a value for both VAT & TAX?

I've emailed an order, it's charging VAT and GST

I'll just remove the change from the last update.

But I still don't understand if you have a setting for TAX and a setting for VAT, how it is "doubled" when it is calculating both that you have set.

It has two separate line items on the order for Tax

I only have one tax rate set for GST of 10%

No, you have GST (VAT) set and a TAX (NOT GST) set for all pick up orders. Those are separate.

I'm removing that update any ways.

That's how it's always been since version 4, I think you may have added that as some orders weren't getting taxed. It's only doubled  up since 5.31
