Allowing Clients To Select Favorites

I am boggled why I can't set up the option for clients to select favorites in a section.  I've done it no problem previous years and I believe even edited a section to give them that option once it was set up.  Under the photo defaults, I have the enable favorites and compare photos checked.  What am I missing other than more coffee?  As always thanks all for your help!

OK Im not sure what I did wrong the first time but I was able to edit the gallery missing the favorites option but going into photos>photo display settings to make the change in the gallery missing the option.  The manual is great at explaining options.  Silly me for not being able to find it before posting here.
