Is It Possible To Have An Album Set To Pre-release?

I do photos for a yearly event. I'd like to have a parent Gallery, with albums (containing sub albums for each group) for each year. But I'd like to have the clients sign up to be notified for the latest year's album, but still be able to view previous year's albums.

There is the pre-registration option, but that is for the main gallery. Not an option to just have it for a sub gallery.
You could create a separate gallery to collect the pre-registration information then change of the links in the email to link to the sub gallery you want to link to.
