Why Can't I Hover Over Email To Copy In Sytist?
Within the Sytist software, it would be really helpful to be able to hover my cursor over an email, right click and then find "copy" in the list of options in the dialogue box but "copy" isn't there as it normally would in other software when you hover over an email address.
Am I missing something or is this feature just not available? If not, is it possible to add it. For our workflow, it would be really helpful.
Thanks
Greg
Well, I can do that, in my admin.
For instance when I send files via wetransfer, I go over the mail in the order panel, and with right click I copy it.
When you paste it you just have to cancel the "send mail" part, because that is a command, and not just a txt or whatever.
So after pasting, you'll see "xxxxx@yyy.com send mail", the colored part is the one, obviously, to erase.
PS I use Safari on Mac
You can just email them too from their account, just left click on their email.
This may be the difference between Mac and PC. I can't do that here nor can the other people using Sytist in our workplace do it...all PC. I can highlight and copy but that's pretty clunky because the cursor has to be so accurately placed. With most software I can just hover over the address, right click and choose copy but not in Sytist.
Unfortunately, our workflow is a bit Systist, a bit Google Docs, a bit Wordpress, a bit of Dropbox and a bit Gmail. What we do isn't really what Sytist designed their software for but it works as good or better than anything else available. We're a film lab so we use Sytist for galleries and all of our billing but not as our website or how we ultimately deliver files to people.
This all evolved over the last 23 years. I wish we could use Sytist for everything but we have to deliver 10s of thousands of images as well as huge video files.
well with that click scroll copy email, seems to me just simply highlight the email left click hold slide and copy is no different in process.
It is different - it's why I asked the question. Hover, right click and copy is easier and quicker and when you have a lot of work and looking for efficiencies, it makes a difference. When we're making galleries, we'll have to do this dozens of times in a day....but thanks for your opinion
I will try on a Pc and let you know.
BTW, maybe I'm saying an obvious thing, but have you tried CTRL+C and CTRL+V ?
I noticed that sometimes on other sites when the right click does not work, the keyboard shortcut does.
Thanks Marko
This is what I get when I hover over the email address and right click on my pc. Where it says "copy link address" all it does is copy the current page URL as does CTRL+C and CTRL+V. What good that is I'm not sure. See my attachment. There is no "copy" in the list. Thanks for checking your PC. On Monday I'm going to check this on one of our Macs.
Tim?...can you chime in please?
I can only confirm that on PC the "copy" command does not appear, you have to click on the "blue" email address and then copy the email from the window that opens after clicking on it
Great...Thanks for trying that Marco and confirming. Yes, that's exactly what I do to copy an email address. Now I'll post it as a feature request.
We use WeTransfer as well, literally hundreds of times after a show. The fewer clicks I need to do, the better.
I asked/for this same thing awhile ago.
My workaround was to add a field that the customer fills in their email address again (so now it is shown as plain text) so now it is a matter of dbl clicking on it and copying the email address and pasting to WeTransfer.
That saves me about an hour or more after every event.
I too would love to not have the customers have to enter it twice.
Thanks Lori! Glad to know I'm not the only one bothered by this. If you can, please give a "I'd like this too" to my message over on feature requests here...
