Paypal Checkout " We Have No Postal Address On File"

Hi,

I was setting up & testing PayPal checkout with sandbox test mode but was unable to log in to PayPal during the transaction (kept cycling back to log in if you have an account), so I processed a transaction with live credentials for a physical product requiring delivery (), however, there is no shipping address on the PayPal transaction; it states " We have no postal address on file". 

Since there is no confirmed shipping address on the PayPal transaction, I understand it is not covered by Seller Protection.

There is no issue with PayPal Standard Business collecting the shipping address for orders.

I've checked PayPal developer & am unable to identify anything requiring further activation. Have I missed something?

sytist does not send shipping info to paypal, that is on the customer end. It has to be verified via their process.

I'm getting "Sorry, that page doesn't exist." for the link, Vance.


With PayPal Standard Business, shipping address shows in Paypal with option to update prior to clicking 'Pay Now', during checkout.


With Paypal Checkout, no shipping address shows via PayPal, even though there is one on file in the Paypal account being used & via website with no option to input delivery address on PayPal, just payment method & 'Complete Purchase'.

Should it be collecting shipping address info from the website for PayPal Checkout? Or is this a PayPal issue?

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Google paypal verified shipping address, i have been with paypal for 18 years, that is a customer account detail. if they do not have an account with paypal and checking out as guest you will always get that message. There is nothing for paypal to verify because it is not in their customer account system. There has been many instances that a customer has moved and have not updated their paypal account so shipping address was wrong in paypal. I always ship to the address on the order from sytist, and if they have not updated that, well it will be a while before they get their order.

Vance, I have. I am also testing with my own personal PayPal account, which I have had for many years along with business accounts accepting transactions. 

I've not experienced any other issues purchasing physical goods requiring delivery from online retailers - my postal address always shows on the PayPal transaction, as it should.

I tried the exact same website transaction test using PayPal Standard Business & there was no issue with the postal address saved in PayPal showing on the PayPal transaction (before you click 'Pay now'), which can be updated as required, prior to paying.

I would only ever rely on shipping address details from the order on Sytist if they checkout in PayPal as a guest (very rare & does not apply to this test transaction), as I understand it is not covered by PayPal Seller Protection unless there is a 'Send to' address on the PayPal receipt.  By confirmed address, I understand it to mean the confirmed 'Send to' address on the PayPal transaction, which can be updated by the customer during checkout for orders processed using PayPal Standard Business.

This issue is only with PayPal Checkout.. I understand the website is configured to send specific details to PayPal to process a transaction..  I am simply trying to establish if the reason it is not sending the order shipping address it is due to a PayPal issue or because Sytist is not configured to send that info via PayPal Checkout - could you please confirm, Tim?

Shipping information is not sent, but the billing information should be. I'll look into it. I had actually done a lot of work on PayPal checkout for this last upgrade. I may have ommitted something.

Thanks for your response. I see one of the latest updates should have fixed this, however, no change with a new test transaction processed today after update with live credentials; still no postal address on file on the PayPal transaction. Any ideas why this is still happening?

I don't know. I'll contact PayPal support. But I am still waiting to hear back from them on 2 tickets from 3 weeks ago.
