Pre-registration For Galleries And Page Text

Sorry for the second question.

Also investigating pre-registration for a gallery and am getting a little bit stuck.

I quite often get asked by parents whey their code isn't working on the site, even while I am still on-site taking the photographs! While I let them know that this is because images have not been uploaded yet, I still get asked.

To prevent this, I intend to upload a placeholder image (the q code actually) using their child's passcode but without the gallery being open. That way, the code works and parents can see the name of their school and that the gallery will soon be opened, but parents can register and leave their email addresses to be notified when the gallery opens.

Firstly, is this possible?

If so, great. But a recent update states....

"Added when a gallery is set to pre-registration, if you enter any text into the text field for the page it will display on the pre-registration page instead of the default pre-registration text. "

What is the reason behind this Tim? Surely, it should be custom text that states the gallery is awaiting image upload and register here to be notified when the gallery open for ordering?

I don't get your question. If you want them to pre-register to be notified when the gallery is available set it to pre-registration.

If you want something other than the default message "Sign up to be notified when this gallery becomes active. Fill out the form below to be notified by email when this gallery becomes available." then enter that message into the text area of the gallery.

I think the confusion might be caused by all school galleries only using passcodes and thus parents can only find their images via their code. Galleries aren't listed on the site.

So there has to be a placeholder image with their -passcode- in that gallery for it to come up after a search, even if the gallery is closed and awaiting image upload.

It's OK though, I can just upload an easy placeholder image to the gallery, set gallery to expired, and have info on the expired gallery page text to contact us if they want to be informed when it reopens. I can then delete the placeholder images and upload pupil images just before reopening.

Is it possible to embed a contact form on the expired gallery text?

Thanks again.

You can't embed a contact for there. You can link to one from the text. Design -> Page Text.
