Entagged Question

Hi Tim, I am looking at the Entagged system and wondering if you are going to be adding a QR/Bar code reader in sytist. It really does not make sense to give a customer a QR code if it can not be scanned in sytist.

Thanks

Sytist won't read the actual bar code. You create bar codes that also has a code on them, the password, and the customer would enter in that password for the photos.

Thanks Tim, yes i understand that but it really defeats the purpose of of having a QR code if they need to type it in. And if Sytist does not understand the QR code then scanning your code would not directly take you to the album.

QR codes are used, for our purposes, for adding image metadata which sytist can then use to uniquely identify images. The system works superbly for our purposes. Entagged simplifies this process, though for a rather handsome price.

Unfortunately, in the eyes of the general public, they are now synonymous with scanning to URL due to track and trace pandemic measures. I know that GotPhoto works in this fashion, and it does / would make it easier for customers to access their images.

Sytist has never been able to resolve images from a URL anyway, though it has been requested by a few people before. Yes, I have seen a few customers scanning my QR codes expecting something to happen, rather than reading the clear instructions that the human readable code is what needs to be entered into our websites 'search engine'.

Thanks Trailboy, I understand completely the use of Entagged, and that is why would you give your customer the image of a QR Code it it does nothing for them. Just give them the number. I can achieve the same thing with being WIFI tethered to Digi cam or other types of mobile apps, i can put that QR Code Number in comments and it is the same thing. The other problem with Entagged is the codes are only static and not dynamic like the one below. password 2446244633 (This is a QR CODE) You still need to be tethered to your phone for Entagged, i can still see a good use for it and $450.00 US is actually pretty cheep. Just looking for better work flow and customer ease on my new portrait site, coming soon.
