Limited Admin

Hello!

I'm trying to offload more office work so I can be more efficient at creating work in the first place, but limiting admin seems to go from SEE ALL THE THINGS or SEE NOTHING at all.

If I could only do one thing this would make my life so much better:

Having editors have access to galleries so they can upload their work to the right place, and later, being able to download orders to print folders for me.

I've tried having them upload to ÄLL PHOTOS" and then I move them later, but with multiple people and multiple galleries it gets pretty messy and I had to go back to me doing all the things and it's slaying me.

To give gallery access atm means they see all my business and earnings/everything and I really cant have that.

Is there anything that can be done ?

Really appreciate it, thanks!

Excellent point, I am also in favor of an examination of this. There is a way to do it as a "gallery owner", but that doesn't allow certain other aspects of adjustment that a full admin would have. One thought i had would be to allow "admin" control to aspects of a SECTION - as in upload galleries, a list of available price lists, even custom design of a section (page designer), etc. Maybe there is a way to code/customize specific admins features in this way?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks Rob!

Personally, I really only want my subs to see galleries for uploading to and downloading orders from.
The goal is: they don't deal with money, they don't deal with customers, they just edit my work and upload, and later, suck out the orders to print.

What I really don't want them seeing are: sales today/this week/month/year/new orders/shopping carts
And to a lesser extent: access to my email logs etc..

I mean, there's a lot of private stuff you just cant hide that is none of a contractor's business seeing.

Fingers x'd!

I agree on the need to have operator areas and admin areas
it would be useful to have the option to let them also read the earnings of some events decided by us, in case they are paid in% of sales

When you create an Admin, select what you want them to see, if you do not want them seeing total revenue the deselect reports. Pretty much has everything already. If you give them full access there is no way to limit.

Also if you want them to upload create a Folder for them to upload too using FTP, and set those folders as watch folders.

Thanks Vance!

I have tried limited admin but it still gave them too much access for my liking ( for eg - I print my orders with no pricing ).
FTP - now there's a new idea - thanks!

Still hoping for a solution to this one :)

I only have my girl set to orders, all photos, and photo products ( to download so she may print, pack and deliver ) but she sees what each gallery makes, what each order makes and the $ is distracting and unneccessary for the job at hand.  Like blinkers on a horse, I want her focussed on what is ahead, and not pondering starting up against me as a side hustle :p

Because I cant limit this, I have to download all the orders myself ( not a good use of my time ), and print out a PDF report of all orders, where I can omit the $$.  Would be so good if I could outsource completely with just a little bit more privacy of my incomings :)

thankyou!
