I don't use the mailing list feature. I don't have a mailing list signup link anywhere on my site. Yet, somehow spammy looking emails keep showing up in People->Mailing List.
I suspect there are bots that are doing a direct form post or calling the javascript signup somehow behind the scenes.
Any way to just fully disable this feature? I don't want to use double-opt-in because that sends a reply.

The mailing list form is hidden in the code even if you don't use it and those are spam bots hitting the form. There is no way to completely remove it but I will make a note of it.
