Can I Move My Sytist Installation To Another Url?

I have had Sytist installed on my main website in a folder - and I'd like to move the entire thing to a different website (possibly as the main website for the new URL), and delete from the original website - without losing my data, etc.

Is this easy to do? Is this something I can pay to have PicturesPro do for me once I'm ready?

Here are the instructions on moving Sytist to another host without losing any data:

If it is the same host but a new domain, you just move all the files into the new domain folder by dragging them within a FTP program.

Hi there,

I just tried to drag the contents of the folder where Sytist is currently installed to a new domain - old location: sarahduckworthphotography.com/cart new location: shineportraits.com

When I do that - the formatting is messed up - the site seems to function but it doesn't look right. I moved it back and it's fine - but wanted to figure out what I need to change to successfully move it. Attaching what the home page looks like after moving it.

After you move the files, in your Sytist admin click Settings in the main menu.

Then underneath the left menu click edit config file.

(or edit the sy-config.php file through the file manager in your hosting control panel)

Remove this line and save and it should fix it.

$setup['temp_url_folder'] = "/cart";

Hello! I did try that, and it didn't change anything... ETA: What I did was download the config file via ftp, edit it, and re-upload it.

Hmmm - so I redownloaded the config file and that line was still there - so I edited it and re-uploaded. Now - I can get into my admin panel via shinesportraits.com/sy-admin - but when I try to view the actual website www.shineportraits.com - it's blank.

My apologies for so many replies - but maybe it'll help someone else seeing the steps... So I hadn't moved the 'index' file - so I did that - and now my site is pulling up (yay!) but no JPG files are coming through, and I can't seem to get folders to come up - for example: shineportraits.com/client-galleries (used to work at sarahduckworthphotography.com/cart/client-galleries). I'm going to look through my folder settings to see if it's a simple fix...

You will need to make sure any folders like /client-galleries you had created sections or pages for are moved too,
