Is it possible to have the reply to this topic button at the top of a thread with lots of replies ??


Also, 

When generating a simple photo list have it format to an a standard A4 page so that an order doesn't span 2 pages ??

I don't know if tis is possible, but when customers order a multi image montage / collage they often ask for a proof, which doesn't always get there by email due to the vagaries of spam filters - would it be possible to load a proof into their account and be viewed within sytist.

I could then text to advise a proof was online to review

I would really like to be able to click on someone's name in the booking calendar and have it take me to their account. It's a pain the way it is now. 


I would also.like to be able to search by phone number.

When I timeslot is booked for a photo shoot I wish there was the option that the timeslot which was booked remains visible but is somehow indicated that the time slot is no longer available. Currently when a time slot is booked the slot is removed from view. Having the timeslot still visible but showing as unavailable or booked with create a stronger sense of urgency.

I agree. Always thought that visible but shaded would be the better option.

This is my biggest problem!I upload galleries and find photos in the wrong gallery,which i would just love to be able to move to the right gallery rather than delete and re upload.

Also is there a way to get  a report of all of the people  who havnt download their photos and mail an automatic reminder say after 7 days.

A second vote for easier grouping og print orders by size and making it stand out when i look through the order summary page that prints have been ordered,big red letters,a star! Most of my orders are automatically filled digitals and i miss the little print word on the summary page.

I shoot at different locations, at different times of the year, for different customers. I need to be able to have options for my subgalleries!

Right now, I have a customer whose proofs are in
Chain store > location > year > Valentine's > her proofs along with a few others.
I need to make it so her proofs, and only her proofs, expire on a certain day, and give her the option to pay for renewal. (She has not made a purchase, and I don't feel like having hers available forever).

expand to "other" the recently introduced functionality for requesting or not requesting a shipping address.

"other" must be able to be considered both as a print and a download of our choice

It would be a nice feature to be able to assign a text code to a gallery. When people texted it to your already setup Sytist sms(SMS/Twilio) number it would send them back a short message like:  

View your {Page_title} Photos here:{Short_URL}

I asked previously about two different levels of sales tax, and learned that is not an option. (I need federal tax on everything, and provincial tax on just physical goods. I'm sure others are in the same boat.)

I just noticed in the tax area that there is the option to add a specific tax rate for orders that are being picked up. If this code is possible, is it then possible to program a tax that is applied only to items that are marked off as "shippable"?

I sort my images by competitor. Typically 10-30k images over a weekend. There are bound to be mistakes made in sorting that many...

What I do is make the correction on the masters. Then on my computer that I use for uploading, I recreate the online folder structure (just like when we initially put them online) with only those folders needing the update.

Doing the re-upload, but be sure to click on Discard Duplicate File Names.

Please make email addresses so we are able to hover, right click and copy. Right clicking currently doesn't show the "copy email address" or "copy". At least on a PC. Thank you

SO MANY CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS

Tim, Sytist is fantastic, so much so that I own two websites that run it. You really have done and keep doing an amazing job..

But... (there's always a 'but')

I get soooo many complaints from customers when they are trying to order pictures to add to a 'Collection'.

I really do think that this needs a complete re-design. It's so complicated and not straight forward. (it is once you've been walked through the process and the penny drops) but obviously this can't be done for high volume sales.

The process is hard on a PC and 1000 times more complex and less straight forward on a mobile device.

Please Please Please can you create something more user friendly, maybe a drag and drop system ?? Anything that is better than the current system.

The main complaint I get goes along the lines of "I have chosen the picture I want, now it won't let me check out"
I know straight away that they haven't chosen all the images required to fill the 'Collection'

I put a gallery 'Live' yesterday and already I have around 10 emails from confused customers.

All my fingers and toes are crossed that you have something up your sleeve that you've been working on. 

I do get excited at every update for the past few years waiting to see if you've addressed it.

I'd love to hear if anyone else is having similar issues with confused customers and how they go about 'training them' to use it.

I have to say that I quite like the way the collections addition currently works. 

I don't get any complaints about the complexity of the collections system at all.  Maybe I'm just lucky, but I do have plenty of explanatory notes when adding collections and when trying to checkout with an incomplete collection in their basket.

A drag and drop UX interface is going to be a nightmare on mobile, I don't know any photo website user interface that uses it at all - does anybody?

If you want to see what a dogs dinner looks like, have a look at gotphoto's package integration at https://demo.gotphoto.co.uk/login.  I much prefer ours with 0 of 3, 1 of 3 progression and 'selected products' item slots dropped below.

Repeat business is my favorite kind of business!  


I would love a way for the system to mark particular booking types as repeat business potential, and then automatically place a reminder on the calendar to contact the business 11 months in the future.

Features that would help.

Search to use all text associated with the image. e.g the caption of an image.

or the ability for tags to be auto created from the image name, caption or other metadata.

the ability for admin to make a users account active, that is that the admin can vet that the user can access the content. if thats not possable the ability to remove the new account creation button, not just the text.

Or if account creation is left to the end user the ability to have them access no content untill a admin adds them to a catagory access. not indervidual gallery. or view but not download untill vetted.

Our customers are press only, they pay a monthy subscription, not open to the public.

would really LOVE the stats at the top of the page be a Fly open window instead of front and center.  When I have clients here, sometimes I have to open Sytist, and they can see my year to date sales which is well, awkward.  

I thought a work around would be to create a user that could shut off viewing that, but you can still view all the financials right on the top. 

My office is set up in such a way I can't turn my monitor away from them. 

Would love to see the stats at the top not be visible unless you click it open. 


I was thinking like a triangle menu.

Financials should be on a dedicated page.  Reports >> Financials for example.  Not on the home page.

Since we can now add up to 3% for accepting Credit Cards. Could we have this feature available to add a percent to the total amount before the client pays with a CC?  It would need to be after taxes are added and not recalculate the sales tax.  A Conveinance fee may be added instead of a percentage.  You can not do both.  I'm getting hit by lots of businesses now charging this fee myself. LOL

once a year I try again. for the European laws on the protection of personal data and privacy GDPR, a registered user must have a button after logging in where he can delete all his data independently and without asking anyone to do it for him.

ex:
- your orders
- my data
- change Password
- your favourites
- log out
- delete everything about me


It's a small thing on the software side, but it would make some of us sleep easier

When printing out multiple Orders for the packers it puts them all in one PDF. Could you add the option for them to save a PDF per Order? We want to be able to automate stapling per order when we are sending 100's of Orders to the printer (instead of the guys doing it by hand).

Default Emails & Automated Messages - Cron Job

I would like to be able to send an automatic email with the same options as the early bird also for a price list change linked to the change date.
I use a more expensive price list after a few days and I would like to remind customers who have seen the gallery of this

I'd love to see more ability to limit admin in the backend so employees are not privy to my financials etc.

Most importantly, because it is hard to affiliate with a lab on Sytist, it would be most excellent to be able to share my Sytist with someone that simply sees the orders to fulfil, minus pricing, so they can extract orders, print them for me, and pack and deliver.

For years, people have tried workarounds with Sytist to achieve this ( printing pdfs, spreadsheets etc ), and much chat has been had on these forums to 'find a way" but nothing is truly satisfactory and it quite fumblesome.  This could all be solved if we were able to allocate someone in the admin that could only see orders ( no pricing ) to access the prints/orders to print, pack and deliver.

I think it would be great if orders that are "direct ship" where somehow auto moved to a different tab or something where they are easily identified from the list of other orders that aren't direct ship. or maybe moved to the top of the list or highlighted somehow.

this way we can identify and get those orders out sooner then the ones that have chosen bulk ship option to school. right now we have to sift through all the orders for the school to find the direct ship ones. maybe there's an easier way already?

I would love to see some more features for T&I and school photography, ie volume photography. I recently signed up with "GotPhoto" because of some the features they have directed to volume photography. Would love to be able to do everything under one website and not have other sites and other subscriptions. Would even love to see a version Sytist maybe stripped down and when you purchase you choose modules geared to your photo business, ie, Commercial, portraits, Volume, Event. Many of the features work across multiple styles but then add in additional features specific for that industry in each of the modules. I think it would be a bonus and I personally would pay a bit more to be able to choose things like this. That way it gives me more of what I need and able to cut out a lot of the items I may never use because I don't do that sort of thing.

- Unique event registration landing pages based on events.

- Event registration that provides a unique code for the client like a QR code. Then when we upload those photos to include that pic QR code it creates a private sub gallery for them. 

- Some sort of a tie to a printing lab. Even if it is a plugin or additional cost. 

- Ability to list a photo in a package as a group photo and when creating galleries set a specific photo or photos as a group photo. And not allow any other photos to be selected for a group photo other than a photo designated as a group photo.

- email or txt notification when galleries are posted for a client with a unique registration.

I have used the booking calendar but I have not seen that it can do what I was talking about with the QR codes. I have looked through the manual and did a search and turned up nothing. If you have a link to that info I would appreciative. I have also set up many of products and haven't seen way to limit which photos you can select to fulfil an item in in a package. Again if you have a link because I am not seeing a way to accomplish this it would be great. 

Same with the notifications. I know if a gallery is present there is a way for them to get updates. but they have to go to that gallery and request if I not mistaken. So how do they opt in for notifications when a specific gallery is created if it hasn't been created yet?

1. Landing page-- You want to create a category then a gallery using pre-register option, not the booking calendar. Using pre-order options you can create your packages you want to sell. Once the gallery has been uploaded, email and or text can be sent for them to select their images. You will need cron job set up for these automated messages. You will all so need a Twillio account to send text messages (Beware vetting takes a long time). Tim does have the authority to offer text messaging services directly from Sytist. https://www.picturespro.com/sytist/pre-orders-for-...

1b. Create a pre-order gallery per class. Obviously you would already have a time slot set up with the school, so it will not matter scheduling each student a time slot. 

2. QR/bar code--- Sytist does not and no plans for it to read the actual graphics. But you can upload a spread sheet with that info.  The actual numeric/ alphabetical code. If you use entagged system it makes this a whole lot easier. https://www.foolography.com/products/entagged/work...

So lets say Jonny Baker puts in his code, this brings up his individual photos only and the group photo he is in. From there he will be able to select his images for the pre-order package he had requested. There are many photographers using this software for schools and this works very well for me. I would value some speed improvements as they directly impact search engine rankings.

Some ideas:

Responsive image options based on view port width and resolution (<picture> <srcset> <source media=""> etc)

Explore some of the newer image formats such as WebP

lazy loading, perhaps optional on videos, images on the back end of a carousel, google maps

Reduce unused javascript, defer non-critial JS/styles, split JS and CSS into smaller payloads and limit chaining critical requests

Remove deprecated APIs (XMLHttpRequest for example)

Advanced Watermarks

We all know water marks can be easily removed by AI, even in its infancy. 

To counter this a study on the effectiveness of visible watermarks suggested that some randomness be added to the watermark when applied, warp, bend, twist, distort, resize, randomly placed, greatly reduce the AI's ability to remove it.

Perhaps this is something to consider!

It would be a great option to have some filtering options in categories with a lot of pages (galleries). 

For example I have a category with a few hundred galleries. When viewing the category in front-end to have filters on top of the screen with a date range selector, to show galleries in this year, last year, date range, etcetera. Or a search field with live updating search results

I'm not sure if this is a feature request or I just haven't worked out how to do it, but I'd like to be able to have customers select a backdrop option for their photo booth event by clicking on an image or to have a check box.

When booking you will need to use "options" and list out your backdrop, if you are doing greenscreen then when they go look at their proofs they will have there choices to view, see your manual for "Green screen". And re-post this in the regular forum for more help.

not green screen. Selecting which backdrop they want for the event. Needs to have visual selection. Not sure that can be done with a list currently?

When any products you can create options and a graphic option type to upload a backdrop file to select. 

You can also add a graphic option to your price lists ( Additional Order Fields / Options  option in your price list) so they select a backdrop file at checkout.

Visual backdrop selection in booking/calendar. people have no clue the difference between a old world canvas background vs a Muslin background. Text input for red, blue,white Etc. have worked but it would be nice to have visuals of different backgrounds, kinda like you have for graphic options in products. Which i do use, but that is for well, graphics after the shoot/event.

For the section of BOOKING PAGES, it would be great to have a larger text field as an option in the booking options. For example; I ask customers to write some extended information for a booking. Now they have to put it in a small, one row field.

Or better: to have the booking steps not in the pop-up way it now is, but like a normal page. Like the cart/order pages are.

I'd like to be able to: 

1)  Set gallery expiry to a specific date, not just "number of days from" 

2)  Export ordered photos according to product chosen, e.g., all the photos ordered as 8x10" prints.  I don't think this is possible?!  It would be AMAZING if this was possible, save SOOO much time.

I'd like to second this request to be able to export ordered photos by product chosen. I do school photos where customers order different sheets and if I could the files sorted by sheet type it would save me hours of image sorting during printing.

I have created a customer retention program.  After my transaction is done with my client, I am issuing the a group of four coupon codes which they can use themselves or share.  

It would be great if coupon codes cold be assigned to a specific client.  

Then, when the client logs into their account, just as they can see "My Images", they could see a section called "My Coupon Codes" which would list their Coupon Codes with all the code's details.

2024 Boost - Add a Tinder Feature to the galleries.
If someone is on their phone they can [swipe right] to like add photo to favs list, [swipe left] to skip, [swipe up] to add to cart.

When they make it through their gallery, it will take them to the favs, to the cart for ordering and purchasing, or to the gallery or their next gallery.
