Attention

If your Photo Cart is suddenly getting a 500 error or only displaying a blank page then you or your hosting company has updated the PHP (programming language) to PHP 7 which Photo Cart is not compatible with (and will not be compatible with) mainly because of the removal of the my_sql functions which are replaced with my_sqli functions.

You would need to have the PHP version downgraded to 5.6 in order for Photo Cart to work. If downgrading the PHP doesn't work then you may have to update Photo Cart to the last version of 7. Download Photo Cart 7 upgrade files. Upgrade instructions.

Photo Cart was retired in 2015. Check out Sytist.

I had taken a break form my business, and hence PhotoCart for a year. Now that I am trying to upload a gallery, my photo cart page seems to be screwy.

Can anybody help?

Take a look: http://www.scoutphotographics.com.au/photocart/
This should be the interface for my clients?but there's nothing. I get something almost identical for the admin page.

Thanks!
Andre

It looks like you are missing the setup.php file (and probably others) which holds the database information. Would you happen to have a copy of that file?

Hi Tim,

I found a backed up database (SQL). So, what I did was re-upload (via FTP) the original 'photocart' folder that I was provided upon purchase. I then used my CPanel to create a 'photocart' database and used phpAdmin to import the SQL file into that database.

However, I think that as I am on a new server/host, that I need to reconfigure my setup.php. I'm struggling there. I found the following instructions, but I'm at a bit of a loss as to what exactly I need to change after I've reached the 'Database Password' change.

Change this variable and name the included photocart folder the same thing.
$setup['photo_cart_folder'] = "photocart";
Database information
$setup['pc_db_location'] = "localhost";

Thanks Tim,

The upgrade seems to have done the trick. Now I've just had to add a 'photos' folder (this is not in the default set for v7), and need to play with some other settings.

Thanks again!

The photos folder would be there from installation. You would have been upgrading. So if there is no photos folder you will need to create one. And also a watermarks folder inside it.
