Attention

If your Photo Cart is suddenly getting a 500 error or only displaying a blank page then you or your hosting company has updated the PHP (programming language) to PHP 7 which Photo Cart is not compatible with (and will not be compatible with) mainly because of the removal of the my_sql functions which are replaced with my_sqli functions.

You would need to have the PHP version downgraded to 5.6 in order for Photo Cart to work. If downgrading the PHP doesn't work then you may have to update Photo Cart to the last version of 7. Download Photo Cart 7 upgrade files. Upgrade instructions.

Photo Cart was retired in 2015. Check out Sytist.

I deleted the files from a gallery and uploaded them again. When processing the gallery, which seems to be working ok, I get this error on every photo processed. However, the gallery seems to be fine with thumbs, zooms and original files.
Is this a problem?
Thank you

You should never delete images from a Gallery folder directly (like with an FTP program) as it leave your database out of sync with the file system. If you need to delete images, be sure to delete them using the Photo Cart Admin so the database gets cleaned up as well.

Thank you for telling me that! I have done this for 9 of my 10 Galleries.
Is there any way to sync up the data base with the file system now?
Will my customer user accounts be affected by the delete and upload?
I am using the very same photos that I deleted. My fault was in not making sure the original files were saved so they could be downloaded by clients.

The best way to correct the situation would be to use Dave's Uploader to "update" the images in the Galleries. It will make sure the database is in sync with the file system and will retain the original image IDs in the database so any customer Favorites or Orders remain valid. Unfortunately, you will need to re-upload all the photos to correct the problem (make sure the file names of the images have not changed as that is how the images are "matched" with the database).

You can download a free 15-day trail from davesuploader dot com.

OK, got the Uploader installed and it is uploading. I think the only gallery that was rogue was the one I am uploading now using the uploader. When this finishes I will see what happens when I choose another Gallery and "update". These ten galleries will archive in two weeks and another set of Galleries will be created. Thanks

I see you were able to activate the Trial so I assume you resolved the Java issue.

Yes, I edited the last reply with the info. I will try the "update" mode on the other galleries. No file names were changed, and the other galleries seem to be ok. I was just trying to make sure that all galleries had the original files so that customers would download the best quality file at 240 px/in instead of the other file at 72. That is when all the trouble started. I will most likely buy this uploader as Mark Lingl will want to take over the admin after this week I am Mark's web support for the initial store opening. Thank you!
