Sytist really needs to offer the ability to connect with Afterpay or a payment program. Is this possible ? Particuarly now in the current economic climate - I believe this will be an essential service that will be needed to offer our clients.

Other sytist users - Please comment below if you would like to see this as part of a service of Sytist !

Hi, you can offer a payment plan, you have to invoice the customer, when making the invoice you can create a payment plan. Although i do like how Afterpay pays you for the entire amount, invoicing this way you would have to wait for the payments.

Thanks Vance - I already do this in a similar fashion. I think that having to invoice them is not a guaranteed finished sale - where as a buy now pay later scheme like afterpay and having the ability to link to that - would be far more beneficial. You can arrange to invoice and offer a payment plan to clients -but you are delaying the commitment to purchase - which in turn affects an emotional purchase. When I was trying to apply for afterpay - there is no option to use it currently for our software - something I think sytist needs to look at going forth in the changes in our forecasted economic climate.

I believe this is called clearpay here in the UK.
Unsure if its the same API but sounds intriguing.

Yes I would like this option too as it would probably lead to more sales.

I'd never heard of them, but I get the impression that this is more for big ticket priced items by people who seem to have exhausted other means of credit and is another one to add to the 'debt later'. I think there are better ways of offering payment plans as above.

I doubt that the API is universal across borders either.

I therefore wouldn't benefit from this.

Not sure where you are from Trailboy, but Afterpay is in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, United States, United Kingdom, and soon to be Singapore/Asia.
I've seen people offer afterpay on items costing $4 ( or 4 easy payments of $1 ) - im not sure who would take the latter option, but it's not just for large ticket items.

Afterpay is only available on the afterpay website, it is not a payment gateway. If you want to use Afterpay you will need to become a retailer on the Afterpay website. Sign up for an account and start your online store there.

Not quite true ^^ , they integrate with your current shop /e-commerce system and there's a dropdown list of those they can work with ( shopify, woocommerce etc ).
Tick "other" and they're really not interested in you.

I dont mind what platform it is either - as others have mentioned, there's Klarna, ZipPay, Afterpay, LayBuy.. so many competitors for this huge and growing market.
All online and in store retailers are using one form or the other - it's expected and when you press to checkout, it's as simple as ticking the radio bullet:

- Pay via
-Credit Card ( $100 )
-Paypal ( $100 )
- or Afterpay/ZipPay/Klarna in 4 easy installments of $25.

But yes, it does have to be integrated, some of them will help you inset your own code if you dont have one of the common payment platforms ( woocommerce, shopify, magento etc ).

Covid19 has seen this type of platform go from being really really popular already, to a massive industry that shows no signs of going backwards.

leanne, they are partners in woocommerce and shopify, and apple, and then your customers need to set up accounts unlike taking paypal payments or taking direct payment from your site. I have to side with Tim in you can not offer every single payment option out there. If he does, maybe he should do a upgrade payment option tier for additional yearly rates.

HI Vance,

No you cant - but we do not have one split-pay option at all. We have a list of about 10 very similar and I guess some outdated gateways ( authorise.net? Payjunction?) and I have tried them all looking for a similar solution. I think you are missing the point that split-pay systems are the way of the future, the same was PayPal was when it first came on the scene and many mainly older folk were terrified of buying online. Australia, where I am from, is known globally as an early adopter of online tech, and over Covid, Afterpay went from being very very popular to exploding overseas and many competitors scrambling to offer similar terms to compete with what the people want.

You don't have to be with shopify et al, as I said, I can get code for my OWN SITE and set up MY OWN gateway, for me, right here on Sytist. I don't need to be affiliated with any other cart, it's just easier if you are as it's all set up already and I don' t have to work with a developer, which I am happy to do.

I have asked if I can set up something ( on another thread on this forum ) similar to "Pay Offline 2" whereby I can enter in my own code so get ANY split pay platform.

It's not a personal thing, i've been asking since 2019 on these forums, and if you do a search you will see many others are as well, from all over the world, even in this thread.
It might not be important to you, but it is to others, and our customers are asking for it because it is now rare to find a retailer/supplier that does NOT offer it - it is the expected norm.

Splitpay type alignments increase cart uptake and decrease cart abandonment - are you really saying you dont want to earn more money and support your customers better?

Has anyone had any luck? I have afterpay activated on my stripe account. Stripe works well and is integrated successfully with sytist,  but the after pay option doesn't show up at the checkout. Does this require further sytist development to work? Afterpay is becoming an expected option for small to large purchases online here in NZ. I would love to hear from anyone that has installed this successfully...Thank you. Brooke.

Agree with you Brooke.

We really need this in NZ now to be relevant in online sales.

I confirm and agree to the request.

for example stripe already provides for various types of deferred payment, in Italy there is "klarna" which would work with stripe but which does not work for updates not made on sitys.
this has already been asked in other posts by other people, but without consequences.

I just had Afterpay approved, and now I can't offer it at the Cart Stage ?

This is so dissapointing

However I am pretty sure you can offer it with Square.  Can't remember if I saw an option for that or not.

Most definitely.  I've made a lot of purchases through Afterpay that I would not have done if Afterpay wasn't an option.

PayPal Pay in3 works (I’ve had clients us it), but I would love to have other options like klana and clearpay (UK based) and have asked before. I have klana activated in my stripe account and looking at it some code needs to be added to make it useable, which of course we cannot do, Tim would nee to.

If interested read this, I managed to let it work, is not that difficult. At the end of the topic there is the explanation on how to do it.
