Glitch In Checking Out

We have a client that was placing an order and the page timed out. She was at check out. The order never came through as an order, yet it charged her credit card. The item that she was charged for is still sitting in her shopping cart.
Obviously this is really bad because we didn't show an order for her.
Any idea why or how this could have happened?

Sounds like it was a temporary network error. Is it happening every time? Have you had successful order since?

Yes, plenty of successful orders since then. We wouldn't have know about this if the client had not brought it to our attention because she was looking for her order. The only other time we know of a payment going through but no order, was one with PayPal that we posted here as well.

Sounds like it was just a temporary network issue which nothing I can do about.
