I have moved my site to a VPS and I have noticed a faster response while viewing photos both from the management end and the customer end. I am not sure I am noticing any significant speed improvement in uploading photos to the site or S3.
I was wondering if moving to MySQL VPS would make a significant improvement or not?

If the current database is on your VPS hosting, I don't think hosting it elsewhere will make any difference. Slower probably.
