What service needs to be enabled for blogs to work, everything else I've come across so far works.

PHPinfo has way too much in it for me to try guess from that.

(FYI you still have access to my site).

Thanks Tim!

Actually, Database backup also fails.

If you could tell me what service that uses I can look to add that at the same time as the blog!

Thanks!

I don't know what you mean. Everything looks fine to me. If there is something you are doing to get that error let me know the steps to recreate it.

If you are getting a message that backups are failing or you don't see a backup file, then your hosting company probably has the PHP system function disabled. And sometimes it just won't work on certain server environments. If this is the case, contact your hosting company and make sure they are making regular backups of your website.

Hi Tim,

I figured it out, and for those who use Synology to host because they want huge amounts of online storage, heres the issue and solution:

The Blog feature on your website uses website.com/blog which on the synology the web folder /blog is reserved for photo station for all virtual hosts and it doesn't matter if photo station is disabled.

Going into the page designer uses /blog which then defaults to this other webfolder and you'll get a message like this:

To fix the error, you can uninstall photo station which removes the alias in apachie and it will work!

I suspect the backup feature has a similar alias issue and I'll investigate that next.
