Bug And Loophole For Different Price Lists Assigned To Sub Galleries

Hello,

I have noticed a hiccup in the ordering process when ordering from a gallery that has two or more sub galleries with different price lists. If one sub gallery has a collection with multiple poses, and a customer does not finish selecting all of the poses from that sub gallery but instead goes to another sub gallery that has a price list without the products from that collection, they cannot order from that sub gallery because the collection is active. This has stumbled many of our customers, I would hope there was a way for a price list to see that it does not have the products for the active collection and automatically 'Go back to product list' so that the new price list can be ordered from.

To add to this, there is a loophole that bypasses this issue entirely which has also been troublesome. If a customer adds images to favourites from the second sub gallery, and then goes to the first sub gallery to add a collection, they can add their favourites to a collection even though those images are in a sub gallery that does not support those products. As an example, if we have a large group photo that is available as 8x10 prints only in one sub gallery with its own price list, a customer can add that photo to favourites, go to another sub gallery with headshots and a collection for digital downloads or small prints, and add their favourites to that collection, bypassing the price list restrictions.

This in particular is a common issue since customers add all of their images to favourites then go to collections, and in adding those favourites to collection, ignore all of the limitations of those sub galleries and price lists.

Is this something that can be looked at?

Thank you.

I'll look into it and see if I can duplicate it and do something about it.

Thank you Tim, let me know if you need further clarification on either of the issues or if you have trouble replicating them.

In regards to the second issue, a potential fix would be making the Photo Display Settings unique to each sub gallery. This way any sub gallery that contains images you wouldn't want added to collections could just have 'Enable add to favourites' disabled. This however would not solve the matter for anyone who has two different collections across different price lists.

If a customer adds images to favourites, then the cart gives them an option to add those favourited images to any collection in the cart. Short of the cart actually checking unique instances of which sub galleries the images belong to and whether those galleries have price lists with the products pertaining to the collection, I simply see this add favourites to collection as a double-edged sword.

Thank you for sorting out the collections across multiple price lists, Tim!
