Importing Database After Switch To New Host

I followed the instructions in the manual for creating and importing a database with my new host.

I keep getting an error:

#1044 Access denied for user 'reflec96'@'localhost' to database 'cssytist'

cssytist was the name of the database I was using at Godaddy. With Godaddy, I didn't have cpanel so I exported it using myphpadmin.

Did I export it wrong from Godaddy or am I importing it wrong into siteground. (I have cpanel at siteground so I was able to follow your instructions in the manual

You will need to edit that sql file with a text editor like notepad, and toward the top of the file you will see something related to reflect96. Delete that line and all the lines above it (and maybe a few below, but hard to say without seeing the file). It is trying to create a database and user and you don't need that in there.

I've included a screen shot of the error.

Where do I find the sql file on the new host so I can edit it.

edit the SQL file you downloaded before uploading it to the new host.

You can't attached the file here. You can email it to me.

I think I got it.

Instead of using export sql from godaddy, I decided to backup the sql to my computer then I imported that to my host and it said import was successful.

Will the backup sql be any problem?

If it imported and the tables were created in the database, then you should be good.
