Shopping Cart Reminders Going Out In Category Where They Are Turned Off

I have a gallery category where I have disabled automatic reminders:
✓ Do not send shopping cart reminder emails for galleries or products in this category
Today I received an email notification for a gallery in that category anyway. The gallery was made recently so I think the category settings aren't being applied properly to new galleries.

Maybe it is in a sub category and that option is not checked in the sub category?
