Pre-registration Notifications

I just want to be sure I understand pre-registration. If I have a group of users who have pre-registered for a gallery, once I publish it it does not notify them from my understanding. So, would the best way be to grant those users access to that album so then they would not need a password to login? And do I send an email to that group of people manually? What's the best process to notify pre-registered users?

While viewing the gallery in the admin, click the People tab. It will list the people that pre-registered.

Click the Send Email or Text tab to send them an email that includes the link to the gallery and password if password protected.
