Feature Request Must Have Afterpay
Hey Tim,
Please please can you code in a option for my customers at cart stage to use AFTERPAY or ZIPPAY.
I am getting exhausted with requests, and embarrassment at not being able to offer different payment methods.
If this is already installed and I have missed the update, could you please let me know.
Hi Stephanie,
If you search the forums you will find much conversation on this going back to 2019.
An update was recently made but it unfortunately doesn't appear to work for Australians or New Zealanders. I remain forever hopeful! :)
Leanne, hey, thanks for letting me know.
Im actually at that stage of thinking of going to another system, because Afterpay and other forms of payment are so requested. Its incredibly frustrating. How hard can it be now the US contingent has been provided ?
Hopeful but doubtful x
Likely, far harder than we can imagine.
There are so many variables and players in this market, each requiring their own API coding integration, sometimes even specific geographic coding within as users are finding out, probably caused by different legal jurisdictions (bnpl regulation is coming to the UK soon, with many players pulling out of the market in anticipation).
Tim and Sytist isn't shopify. I can sympathise with him, to be honest, payment integration must be a real ballache.
I think the best chance for bnpl in sytist is for the paypal integration to work more widely, which I imagine is the most popular payment method among users here and with most customers having pre-existing pp accounts. Setting up an account with a bnpl supplier is is yet another step.
I'm not interested in it as the Square bnpl scheme more than quadruples fees, so it would only be suitable for more expensive tickets such as wedding photographers and unrealistic for small sale volume photography. Also noticed it seems to be far more popular in Australia than elsewhere - I've never once been asked for it.
Yeah, totally get it! And yep, I wish the part-pay Paypal worked here, it is indeed the most logical option. I am pretty sure Stephanie was speaking generically - in Australia we have a tendency to adopt brand names as words for generic items.. when means when someone refers to "Afterpay" here .. they aren't usually referring to the brand at all, but more the ability to pay in parts.
Sorry, it's probably a very annoying quirk :D
