Any Assistance With Gmail Problem?
I know that on the troubleshooting email page it very clearly states "IF
NONE OF THE ABOVE WORK YOU WILL HAVE TO GET WITH YOUR HOSTING SUPPORT
BECAUSE THIS ISSUE IS WITH THE SERVER. NOT A SYTIST ISSUE." - However, I am still having issues.
I am able to send emails through my server to gmail addresses outside of sytist.
I have spent hours on support with my webhost making sure my SPF and DKIM are correct, as well as referencing the right IP address.
I am not able to set up the SMTP PHPMailer option because I am on a shared email server.
I am headed into the busy season and it seems 80% of my clients have gmail addresses and this is becoming unsustainable.
If anyone else has found a magic solution and can share it with me I would be so grateful!!!
There is a specific procedure in Gmail that allows you to assign a unique password to an external app (in this case sityst) which will be recognized as serious and authorized. When you have generated the unique password for sityst ( which will be different from your usual password, you will have to enter it in sityst and you will see that it works better because it is recognized as an app authorized by you. Search the web for password for gmail apps. This is a link in my language https://support.google.com/mail/answer/185833?hl=i...
Thanks Marco!
I looked at the article in English and it says "An app password is a 16-digit passcode that gives a less secure app or device permission to access your Google Account."
I don't think that sytist uses my google account at all - so I'm not sure how this would help?
Sorry maybe you are not using a gmail to send emails from sityst. I answered this hypothesis.
Thanks Marco! I never thought of that. I do have a gmail address - maybe I could try and use that for sytist.
For Gmail issues, start by checking Google's Help Center for specific problem solutions. Ensure your internet connection is stable. Try clearing your browser's cache and cookies, or use Gmail in a different browser. If problems persist, consider using the Gmail app or contacting Google Support directly for more personalized assistance.
