Is there a way to ensure the magnifier comes into play when viewing images on the site.
My 3:2 6.9mb files provide the square magnifier for viewing.
I have recently uploaded 3 wide format photos (for printing 510 x 175mm) 17mb. These display with some crushing of detail on faces and no magnifier shows when the image is clicked.

It is displaying the large photo that is created . So you may want to increase the "Large max image width" and "Large max image height" in Settings -> Photo Settings. Changing will only change photos uploaded after you change them.
