I have an older version of Sytist and inadvertently upgraded my PHP to 8.1 prior to purchasing and installing the latest Sytist. Is it possible to upgrade manually (download and copy to the server) without losing information on my current, albeit broken, site?

Just revert back to the PHP you were using, then upgrade.

Change the PHP version back to 7.4 then apply the update from the admin homepage then change it back.
