Upload Fail - Retry - Sorting

I keep having the upload fails despite having good internet connection and they were retrying automatically before but now are not? As we photograph events with up to 5 photographers there are often thousands to upload, so having to completely restart and ignore duplicates is very time consuming and delays the clients being able to view which risks loss of interest.

My current upload is 13072 total images, 12040 currently online, and it has taken hours to go through every image and ignore duplicates, can the selected files not be scanned for duplicates before uploading to speed it up?

The last thing, when it fails and restarts, the image order becomes totally random and I have to go into every single folder and rearrange by name - there are 600 of them this weekend so you can image how long that takes. Can the order not be made automatic, of rearranging from the gallery affect sub folders too?

Sounds to me like a server issue. I would contact your host to see if something is triggering this - e.g. mod security.

How are you uploading? I find FTP to be far superior (esp for large uploads) and then have sytist process the uploaded folder.

Thanks, triggering which part? The fail? It was automatically retrying failed ones a couple of months ago but not now.

The sorting wouldn’t be a host issue surely?

We upload using the upload to gallery on Sytist, don’t know how to do any other way?

Working a couple of months ago and not now, with no changes to your sytist installation, points to your server. But Tim would be better to advise.

There have been a couple of updates in that time.

The photos failing will be a server or network issue.

There is an option in Settings -> Photo Settings for "Arrange Order of Photos & Sub Galleries After Upload By Name Ascending".

Checking that option when the upload is done it will rearrange the photos. They are out of order because they are in the order which they are uploaded.

Thanks Tim, I’ve now checked the box on that.

Has the auto retry changed? I’ve updated a couple of times since that was added and it no longer retry’s automatically.

There has never been an auto retry.
