Is there any way to add an instagram feed rather than just an icon link to
website pages for insta ?
Other web building platforms have this ability to add a widget /design element to
integrate with instagram so it shows your latest posts in a scroll feed.
Is this something that can be added in the new future to the web platform. ?

Create the widget, insert the html code wherever you want it.

Hi Sean, Appreciate your reply and assistance. Any chance you can expand a little . 1) How do I create the widget - is that done in by the website https://lightwidget.com/. and 2) I would just insert html code (hopefully this is accessible from the website you have suggested - as I wouldnt know how to grab html code from a widget....) Does this code go in page designer ? in maybe the text area ???
Have you got an example link ?
Thanks in advance. Happy to do this myself if I could find step by step instructions on doing so.

Yes, go to that Light Widget site, create an account, link your Instagram, make your widget, once that's done it will give you a code to insert into your website. And yes, just insert a new text area and go into the "HTML Editor" and paste the code wherever you would like it.
I unfortunately removed mine off my website, I don't use IG much anymore. But it works like a charm. It will update automatically every day.
