Watermark On Thumbnails/preview Pic

I'm still learning Sytist and getting it all set up so please forgive me if this has been addressed, I took a look through the forums and did not see...

Actually I've been through all the options so I think this isn't possible but I want to ask anyway...
Is there no way to watermark only the big versions of the photos? In my Photo Cart installation, I upload via FTP and when I process, it doesn't watermark the thumbnails, only large view images. Is this possible with Sytist? Having the watermark on the thumbs makes the page look very cluttered, especially with the photo display set to justified, which I really like.

There is not an option to only watermark the large photo. When photos are processed, the smaller sizes are created from the large resize because it is much faster and if it is watermarked, then the smaller ones are.

Thanks for your reply -- I think I have finally found a happy medium where it's not noticeable on the thumbnail so much but works well protecting the photo. Unfortunately I've had a problem in the past with people cropping out my watermarks from an 800px long side image and making those into good 8x10's!!!

it would be great to have this as an option (even if it were slower to upload galleries). I agree, a whole gallery full of watermarked thumbnails looks clunky - but at the same time, I don't want to not watermark the bigger copies. Having a checkbox to choose this would be great.

This is an old post but I just installed Sytist and I have to agree... a gallery with watermarked thumbnails is not very pleasant to the eyes ! I would comprise on speed for this option.

Yep I agree. It was possible to suppress thumbnail watermarking in PhotoCart.
