Attention

If your Photo Cart is suddenly getting a 500 error or only displaying a blank page then you or your hosting company has updated the PHP (programming language) to PHP 7 which Photo Cart is not compatible with (and will not be compatible with) mainly because of the removal of the my_sql functions which are replaced with my_sqli functions.

You would need to have the PHP version downgraded to 5.6 in order for Photo Cart to work. If downgrading the PHP doesn't work then you may have to update Photo Cart to the last version of 7. Download Photo Cart 7 upgrade files. Upgrade instructions.

Photo Cart was retired in 2015. Check out Sytist.

Creating New Default Emails ?

I wish there were a way to edit the default email titles and select which default email to send to a client. I like the "send access info" email tab but maybe if that were changed to just "Email Client" and then be able to select "which" email we want to send to them. As soon as a gallery is placed online, yes, to email them that access code email is great but we have different TYPES of clients we want to send "different" default emails to.... Portrait, Business, Event and they would have different wording, etc...

All these default emails listed here are great but I dont use but 1 or 2 so if I could change the TITLE of the preset ones, I could use those too....AND be able to select WHICH email I want to send the client.

There is not an option to create new default emails or edit the titles of those emails. If you wanted to edit the title of the default emails, you would have to do it directly from the database through PHPMyAdmin on your hosting and in the pc_emails table.

It's *possible* Just depends how much you can code, or want to pay someone to code. :) I hired someone to add a new email template and a checkbox on the order screen so when I update the status to something like "On order from lab", I can send an email if I want. It's pretty awesome and brings the order process in line with other major online shopping experiences.

That sounds cool Brian.... so what did you pay that guy ? Maybe I (others) would consider contacting them to hire him to do the same thing.... or pay you for the code changes. I wouldn't mind seeing the changes that you made. Was it just that one (screen capture that you included) ?

I wouldn't want to send lots of emails "from" the cart.... once they order, we have their email address and I email them directly from Outlook. I would want to just create one or two new default emails - like having different emails to send portrait clients, event or business clients since the wording and prices are different.

Thanks
Paul

*edit* Sigh - apparently don't put a less than symbol anywhere in your message or it cuts everything after it. I typed less than 3, a heart, so to speak.

Why would you want to hand send emails?? lol I love automation.

Anyways, I don't feel like retyping everything I put in the first message, private message me here if it's possible or send me an email at bossturbo at g m a i l and I'll forward his contact info. I had many changes done, since I don't need to "worry" about integrating the changes in any future versions of Photo Cart.

Thanks Brian and I will PM you... I would think Tim might want this coders name too in case he wanted to add this implementation into the main files so everyone could have some additional email features.
