Cant Save Changes To Templates

Hi Tim,

I'm trying to change our homepage template (before going live with it).
I take out the old single image, add in a billboard slideshow, add images, save it and then exit but it goes back to the original home page image. No matter what I do I cannot change the template?
I have sized the new photos to 2000px wide and 800px high, could this be why they are not saving? I'm struggling to get the billboard images to look any good. I've looked at some of the answers in the forum but going round in circles with it.
We haven't done the latest update, could this be the issue?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Nicola

Unless you are editing a template instead of the content of the home page, I don't know why it would not be saving.

You can email me the link to your Sytist admin, the admin username and password (or create me an admin account by clicking Admins in the upper right corner of the admin pages), I can take a closer look.

I was editing a template to replace the front page with, is that not the correct thing to do? rather than making changes while the page is live?
Or does this not work with the home page?
I thought I would be able to make a template for the front page then switch it once I had everything in place.

Thanks
Nicola

If you are editing a template and ready to make that template your home page, in the admin go to Site Content -> Manage Home Page.

From there click on the page designer button.

In the page designer menu at the bottom, click the Templates button.

Next to the template you are wanting to use click the +Load link to load that template.

Then when you save after that, it will make that the content of your homepage.
